President Akuffo Addo will receive an honorary award from Sorbonne University in Paris on Monday, October 10th, 2022. 

According to a statement issued by the office of the President, aside from receiving the honorary doctorate degree award, the President will “ address the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at its 215th session.”

Prior to his third honorary award , he had received the first, which was an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree awarded to him in May 2016 by South Africa’s Fort Hare University. The second was an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letter Degree in December 2017 by the University of Liberia.

During his stay in France, he is said to speak at the Asia Society forum dubbed “To Act in a Troubled Time: New Perspectives from France, Asia, Africa and the World,” where he will commission the renovated Chancery building of Ghana’s Embassy in Paris.

The President’s delegation includes the Second Lady , Rebecca AKuffo Addo; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey; Minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum; among others.

On Friday, October 14, 2022, he is expected to return to Ghana, according to the statement.
