The United Arab Emirates has Visa banned Ghana and other 19 countries from visiting Dubai.
Other countries affected include 18 African countries, which are Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Togo, Gambia, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Benin, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo. The one non-African country on the list is the Dominican Republic.
According to the notice, “This is to inform you that we will not be posting 30 days visa applications for these nationalities effective today October, 18, 2022,” .
According to reports, this is not the first time Ghana has been banned from travelling to Dubai, as on December 28, 2021, Emirates Airline announced that some African countries were not allowed to enter Dubai in the COVID-19 era.
The reason for the restriction is still a mystery.
