Ghanaians in Spain over the weekend staged their own version of the #FixTheCountry protest.

FixTheCountry in the past couple of months has received massive endorsement on social media not in Ghana but in the diaspora as well. 

It was a movement to express displeasure at government over the economic hardship in the country. 

Although a pending court case between the Police and Conveners of the campaign has stopped what was supposed to be the biggest demonstration against the government, the movement seems to gather momentum abroad. Yesterday, Ghanaians living in Spain took to the streets to protest in the name of #FixTheCountry. 

They displayed placards calling for good and responsible leadership to fix the hardship in Ghana. They also described the Ghana Embassy in Spain is as a Tyrant’ entity that needs better leadership reform. Meanwhile, the case between the Ghana Police Service and Convenors of FixTheCountry in Ghana has been adjourned to June 21, 2021. 

The case was initially set to be heard today but had to be adjourned following a late filing of documents by the police.
